At Quality Care we offer year-round maintenance for your trees and shrubs, including fertilization, insect and disease management, pruning, and mulching. Your trees are valuable investments that require proper care to be safe and to provide a lifetime of enjoyment and environmental benefits. While we can’t prevent catastrophic weather events from damaging our trees, we can help them grow as strong and healthy as possible to resist extreme conditions. Our on-staff arborists, certified by the International Society of Arboriculture, stand ready to consult with you about your trees.
Four feedings per season: spring, early summer, late summer, and fall. Phosphite fertilizer promotes the strength and vigor of your trees and shrubs.
Many of our trees are planted in urban soil that has been disturbed, usually during construction or landscaping, and that soil is frequently deficient in organic matter, making it difficult for trees to absorb nutrients. Fertilization with beneficial mycorrhizae fungi helps trees develop the strong root systems necessary to survive harsh conditions, and makes nutrients in the soil more available to the roots. Quality Care will feed your trees with a slow-release liquid fertilizer fortified with micronutrients injected 3” to 5” into the soil under low pressure. Quality Care can also feed your shrubs with a granular fertilizer two or three times per year, depending on their specific nutritional needs.
The arrival of the Emerald Ash Borer to our area is devastating our Ash population. While not every tree is a candidate for treatment, we offer a preventive control for this pest that is effective and lasts for up to 2 years. Our arborist staff can help you determine if your Ash is healthy or not, and can recommend a treatment program. We can also diagnose and treat for other insect infestations, including Japanese Beetles, Zimmerman Pine Moth, and others that may lead to damage or death of a tree.
Our trees are vulnerable to a wide range of diseases, many of which are treatable. Some diseases may only cause unsightly spots and discoloration on leaves, while others may lead to the rapid decline and death of a tree. We can help to diagnose and recommend a course of treatment, when appropriate, for your ailing trees. We encourage you to get in touch with us as soon as you see something concerning your trees.
We specialize in preparing young trees for a lifetime of strong, healthy growth through proper pruning techniques to develop a sturdy structure. Quality Care can prune up to twenty feet, and we concentrate on pruning deciduous trees during dormancy to reduce the likelihood of disease transmission. Pruning in the winter also allows us to see the physical structure of the tree better and allows it to put its energy toward callusing over the pruning cuts in the spring.
We can also prune and shape your deciduous and evergreen ornamental trees and shrubs at the appropriate time during the growing season.
A mulch cover of about 2”-3” in planted beds will help to preserve moisture, enrich the soil as it breaks down, and help suppress weed competition. Properly mulching trees will help retain moisture, moderate temperatures in the root zone, and keep mowers away. It looks great too! We keep a supply of double processed shredded hardwood bark mulch, in a natural dark brown color, and dark brown dyed mulch for pickup, delivery, or we can install it for you.
Irrigation systems are investments in the long-term health and beauty of your lawn and landscape that require routine maintenance to function properly. In the Midwest climate, with annual freeze/thaw cycles and wildly fluctuating rainfall, environmental stresses can wreak havoc on your underground sprinklers.
Quality Care’s irrigation technicians are trained to start your system in the Spring, checking for proper operation, sprinkler coverage, leaks, timing, and backflow prevention. In the fall we will shut off the water supply, blow out all lines with compressed air, and power down the controller.
Our technicians are lawn care experts and will monitor the condition of your lawn, landscape, and irrigation. Our technicians are certified to perform mandatory backflow prevention tests.
We provide the clean-up and removal of leaves and seasonal debris from beds, lawns, curbs, and building entrances.
We offer gutter inspection and cleaning, keeping them free of leaves and other debris. Regular maintenance reduces the chance of leaks and pest infestation.
High-quality work done with care. We provide a stress-free experience from start to finish that is both easy and convenient.
